The Annual Meeting of

The Annual Meeting of Members may be attended by any member of Sigma Alpha Omega each year. However, only Delegates are permitted to address the Presiding Officer and vote on behalf of their chapters or associations. Delegates *MUST* be registered for convention to serve as a delegate and in physical attendance at the meeting (i.e. not virtual). Chapters who are unable to attend may request a vote by proxy from the Executive Director no later than May 25, 2024.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to stream the Annual Meeting of Members due to audio/visual constraints at the site and available national representatives to operate.

The Delegate Packet will be published closer to the AMOM and will include the AMOM agenda, Reports, National Trustee Applications, and Amendment Proposals and will be downloadable in MySAO.org under: More...  / Files / Shared by National Office / AMOM 2024 (folder link to come)

Please note, as listed in the previously release of Proposals, that the deadline for questions to be submitted to be answered in the "Pre-AMOM Question Submissions and Response, 2024" document ends PRIOR to the AMOM. Submission for questions will be provided in MySAO following the proposal materials release likely in April/May 2024.

Chapter and Alumnae Association Delegation Requirement

Each active chapter is required to send two (2) delegates to the Annual Meeting of Members (AMOM), which takes place the first Saturday of June during Convention. Each Delegate's Convention 2024 registration costs should be covered by the chapter's/association's own budget as providing delegates is a national requirement to maintain national chapter or association status.

Delegate
Eligibility

  • All delegates MUST be available to participate in-person at the Annual Meeting of Members on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

  • All delegates are REQUIRED to register for Convention 2023 and are expected to attend in full.

  • Simply filling out the specification form with the names and contact information of a chapter or association delegation is NOT registration for Convention.

  • Those who have graduated as of June 2024 and do not plan to return as active sisters for Fall 2024 are ineligible to serve as a delegate for a chapter but may serve as one for the Alumnae Association.

  • Chapters: Fall 2024 Officers should have first priority as delegates if they are available; otherwise, a delegate may be a non-officer but she must plan to be an active sister for Fall 2024.

  • National Alumnae Association: NAA delegates must each have alumna status as of June 2024.

  • Delegates should be available for the Delegate Orientation Call on April 28, 2024, time TBD. (This was requested by delegates from the 2023 meeting for this year.)

Delegate Specification Form

All chapter and association accounts must submit the delegate specification form as only accessible through those official @sigmaalphaomega.org accounts. This form is made available March 25, 2024 and due no later than April 15, 2024. Every chapter and association must specify its delegates via nationally-provided form, which can only be filled in when logged in from an official @sigmaalphaomega.org Google account no later than April 15, 2024. Simply filling out the specification form with the names and contact information of a chapter or association delegation is NOT registration for Convention. Delegates will be contacted at information provided in this form for preparation instructions for the Annual Meeting of Members along with information for the DELEGATE ORIENTATION CALL on April 28, time TBD.

03

Delegate Orientation Call

Delegates will be contacted at information provided in this form for preparation instructions for the Annual Meeting of Members along with information for the DELEGATE ORIENTATION CALL on April 28, time TBD. This call, which had been offered in prior years but not last year, was requested by delegates from the 2023 AMOM who explained they would have like more time to discuss and receive more information regarding proposals before the AMOM.
