Who are we?
Sigma Alpha Omega is a non-denominational, Christian social sorority that is first founded in Christ and second founded in sisterhood. We encourage each other to grow in the Lord and in the Word while holding one another accountable through our friendships. Together, we pursue the Biblical ideals of Christian leadership, sisterhood, spiritual development, campus leadership, good scholarship, fine standards, service, excellence, and love through life in Christ. Convention is our annual convening of our members, and we are proud to be celebrating our 17th annual retreat. For the first time in Sigma Alpha Omega history, we are opening up registration to the general public.
Who can register?
Are you a woman? Great! As a sorority, our membership is exclusive to women. Therefore, our annual event is meant to benefit and uplift women socially, spiritually and professionally. We ask that no male persons register for this event.
What can I expect?
You can expect a weekend packed with opportunities to connect with God and spiritually engage other Christian women. Because this annual conference is traditionally exclusive to sisters of Sigma Alpha Omega, some events are not available to the general admissions track. However, we hope you will find this weekend worthwhile no matter your membership status! We will have opportunities to engage in devotionals, worship, leadership training, and messages from powerful women of God.
How do I utilize this website?
Think of this website as your pastor - it will guide you through everything you need to know and access to engage meaningfully with Convention. Because this annual event is traditionally for sisters of Sigma Alpha Omega, there are two available tracks and tiers of registration. Sisters should use the password-protected “Sisters Only” portal, and non-sisters should use the password-protected “General Admission” portal for all matters pertaining to our annual conference. Sisters can use the same password to access this portal as they do our National website. Passwords specific to Convention offerings will be issued to all parties one week before the event.
How will I engage with Convention?
We will be using Zoom webinar and meeting rooms for all Convention matters, so you will need to download the Zoom web application and register for a free account. Some events, such as the Alumnae Lounge, will be a private Google Meets link issued to appropriate parties. Please make sure that you have the most recent version of Zoom downloaded and check for updates prior to signing on. This will help mitigate potential audio and video issues.
